Pam and Charlotte: “AgingNext was our long-awaited gift”
The seventeen months that the Center was closed caused a grave hardship on many families. Demystifying the Village
Anyone remember the old adage, “A friend in need, is a friend indeed?” The concept of surrounding ourselves with community is not new. Did you grow up not only knowing your neighbors socially, but also knowing they were there to help if you needed something? Do you remember going next door to borrow a cup of sugar? It seemed that our neighborhoods were full of helpers and many still are!
Volunteer Spotlight: Gale Taylor
Gale began attending the AgingNext Caregiver Support Group meetings over 17 years ago when her father was diagnosed with Leukemia. Shortly after his passing, her mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia and Gale became her caregiver. To better prepare for what lay ahead, Gale became a Certified Gerontologist.

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought the need for socialization, no matter your age, to the forefront. Many feel lonely and isolated and are trying to adapt to new ways of engaging with family and friends.
2020 has changed many things… but not Bill and Pat!

Villages and Self Reliance
Villages thrive in the belief that independence is made possible through interdependence. Often times Village Membership extends the period of aging-at-home and data suggests Village members feel more socially connected and feel less isolated.
